Boost Your Immune System
One of the early warning signs of a weakened immune system is a feeling of being bloated and/or constipated. These conditions are very common complaints in both adults and children. People are just not eating enough good fibre. There are many types of fibre such as gums, resins and pectins (found in apples and bananas) and also cellulose, which is the major component of plant cell walls. The friendly bacteria in our gut need cellulose in order to stay healthy. So eating wholefoods and greens keeps our friendly bacteria happy and, in return, they keep us clean inside and provide us with a bonus of B vitamins.

A clean digestive tract is also obviously better for the immune system. If we are repeatedly constipated, there is a build-up of toxins, which can be absorbed into the bloodstream. The immune system has to deal with this and no self-respecting bacteria wants to live in a constipated colon. They move out and make room for the bad guys like Candida who are willing to slum it in these unhealthy living conditions. We should ideally have a bowel movement for every meal that we eat. Just think about it for a moment. We eat food, it is digested, the nutrients from it are absorbed and any waste including indigestible fibre is removed through the bowels. So, if you are only having one bowel movement every three or four days or even longer, the waste inside you is building up and becoming compacted. This not only makes it more difficult to have a bowel movement but the toxic waste is also building up and being absorbed back into the bloodstream. Bad news all round.

We all become clogged up especially after over indulgences such as our summer barbecues, and our traditional Xmas Feast's. The best way to have a good clean out and is to take LBS II, which is a lower bowel stimulator extract and is suitable for children with constipation.

Hydrate the Colon with Linseeds
Linseeds not only provide you with essential fats when they are ground up. but also provide an excellent source of fibre filled with water. It is so important to keep the colon hydrated and many people are still not drinking enough water on a daily basis. To ensure you have a good bowel movement at least once every day (this means large soft stools not hard compacted stools) drink a glass of soaked linseeds every morning.

You need a glass jar with a tight lid. Put about 2.5cm (one inch) of organic golden linseeds into the jar and fill it two thirds with filtered water. Put the jar in the fridge and leave for ten hours. Every moming put one tablespoon of the soaked linseeds into a glass, fill with water and drink the seeds. Ensure you drink eight glasses of water every day and you will soon have magnificent bowel movements!
